Director of AI Initiative at KAUST
On October 1, 2021, I'll start directing the ambitious KAUST Artificial Intelligence Initiative. The goal is to advance fundamental AI research on all fronts, in line with my old objective of the 1970s: I'll remain Chief Scientist of and Scientific Director of the Swiss AI Lab, IDSIA. I'll keep a part-time adjunct professorship at the University of Lugano, , supervising my research team co-funded by grants from ERC and SNSF, traveling back and forth.
